In this second Spanish lesson
we will teach you the use of probably one of the most essential verbs
"to be" - estar. Additionally, to the Spanish language has particular
uses of adjectives, and we are going to dive into some basic concepts.

lesson the colors... becaus eeverything has a color, right? :-)
The verb to be - El verbo
estar
Yo estoy - I am
Tú estás - You are
El/ ella está - He/She is
Nosotros estamos - We are
Ustedes están - You are
Ellos/ellas están - They are
And here are some examples of how you can use it:
- Yo estoy en los California y tú estás en Méjico. / I am in California
and you are in Mexico.
- Nosotros estamos en casa y ustedes están en el hospital. / We are at
home and you are at the hospital.
About adjectives in Spanish
In Spanish the adjective obey some simple rules that you can apply and
easily get by. For example they must be in the correct number (singular
/ plural) and in the correct gender (masculine / femenine).
Rule #1: Adjectives that end in –o are masculine singular have four
forms, ending in –o (masculine singular), -a (femenine singular), -os
(masculine plural), -as (femenine plural)
Examples:
Masculine Singular -
El muchacho alto. / The tall boy.
Femenine Singular - La muchacha
alta. / The tall girl.
Masculine Plural - Los
muchachos altos.
/ The tall boys.
Femenine Plural - Las
muchachas altas.
/ The tall girls.
